Appealing your grade:
USF has a formal process for appealing a grade, which can be found on the official USF website.
Formal and Informal complaints:
There are two ways for students in the MBA program to make their grievances heard.
OPTION 1:
The first is to file a formal complaint by following the guidelines enclosed below.
This process is recommended if you have an issue that is relevant only to you or if you have an issue that is specifically between you and a professor.
OPTION 2:
The second way is to send Kriti Dewan, the VP of Academic Affairs an e-mail or set up a time to speak with her in person.
This method is recommended if you wish to remain anonymous and/or if your grievance is a general concern. The VP of Academic Affairs will be keeping a confidential log of these issues and will discuss them in her regular meetings with the Executive Director. However, there is no guarantee that immediate action will be taken. If you require immediate attention and action, please consider filing a formal complaint.
Option 1 Complaint Guidelines:
A written, factual specific record should be submitted by the student to the Executive Director for a substantive complaint involving a professor, fellow student, or administrator. The student and Executive Director will then meet to discuss the student’s concerns and look to reach a mutually acceptable solution to the problem.
If the nature of the complaint is such that the GBA, student clubs or other student officers can be of assistance, a meeting will be scheduled with the relevant people, usually within 10 days of receiving the complaint and more quickly if the circumstance warrants. The privacy rights of all individuals involved as well as the non-administrative status of the GBA and other student officers will be carefully considered in arranging any student-to-student meeting for problem resolution.
If the nature of the complaint requires consultation with or action by the Associate Dean or Dean, these administrators will be contacted in writing by the Executive Director of MBA Programs within 10 days of receiving the complaint and more quickly if advisable.
The student who filed the complaint will be notified in writing of any of the foregoing steps by the Executive Director within 10 days of their occurrence, and more quickly if advisable.
