Challenge for Charity

The MBA Challenge for Charity (C4C) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that draws on the talents, energy, and resources of MBAs from eight West Coast business schools to support Special Olympics and family-related local charities, and to develop business leaders with a lifelong commitment to community involvement and social responsibility. These goals are accomplished through volunteerism and fundraising which are fostered by collegial interaction and friendly competition. 2011-12 marks the 5th proud anniversary of the chapter at USF
 
 

Microfinance Club

The USF Microfinance Club (MFC) is a student association at the University of San Francisco dedicated to promoting prosperity in the developing world.  The endeavor began as a curricular service project in an MBA leadership class.  The founding board of what would become the Microfinance Club decided to pursue an ambitious project in the field of microfinance.    Read More...
 
 

Net Impact

Net Impact at USF is organized for and by USF graduate students to inspire stewardship in corporate and social responsibility, social entrepreneurship, nonprofit management, international development and environmental sustainability amongst the university's future business leaders. 
 
We have a number of programs and initiatives to educate, equip and inspire students to make a tangible difference through business. This is accomplished by:
  • Exposing students to corporate, social, and environmental responsibility issues.
  • Introducing concepts of sustainability that are applicable in all sectors of industry.
  • Connecting students and providing them with hands-on experience with businesses, organizations and individuals who share Net Impact's core values.
  • Creating a network of businesses, organizations, and professionals for students to broaden their business education, refine their leadership skills, and pursue their professional goals.

 

The Urban Land Business Association

 

The Urban Land Business Association (ULBA) is a student organizationdedicated to real estate development, investment and management with an emphasis on public-private partnerships, sustainability and social responsibility.  The ULBA provides an inclusive forum for graduate students to explore the social, political, economic and environmental impact of development projects and urban planning decisions in the city/county of San Francisco and the greater Bay Area.  The association seeks to cultivate strategic relationships with real estate professionals, land use practitioners, entrepreneurs, public officials, and other industry experts; pursue career development and internship opportunities for MBA students; and promote USF’s MBA program to the local development community. http://www.linkedin.com/groups?about=&gid=2420556&trk=anet_ug_grppro

BioBusiness Association

The USF BioBusiness Association is a student association with an objective to connect MBA and USF graduate students to the world’s greatest biotech community that surrounds us in the Bay Area. We are committed to connecting biotechnology and business by strengthening our industry knowledge with monthly speaker events, developing a professional network, and ultimately securing our careers within BioBusiness.
 
 

Consulting Club

The USF MBA Consulting Club enables students to apply their growing knowledge of business by consulting and bettering Bay Area companies in such areas as: marketing, finance, management, IT, accounting, and social responsibility. Their goal is to build relationships with local firms while in the process gain experience, make valuable contacts, and open doors for students interested in consulting and other fields.
 
 

Energy Club

Mission Statement:
The Energy Club Aims to provide a platform for USF MBA students to learn about the energy sector, the technologies and the different players in this ever-expending industry, while promoting personal career development. In addition, to expose and promote the USF MBA program to Bay-Area employers and the academia.

 

Our Activities:
In our program we try to combine theoretical knowledge with practicalities of internships, job search and professional networking. This year’s exiting program of the Energy Club includes - monthly speaker series, Silicon Valley field trip & PG&E visit, participation in an Energy business plan competitions, industry analysts experience and more.

 

The Energy Club members can expect to get heads-up on Job and internship opportunities, in-depth industry knowledge, up-to-date industry information (provided by our own analysts-club-members), excellent opportunities for industry networking, access to Bay Area energy related conferences, meetings with fellow MBA’s and young professionals in the energy industry, and much more…

Entrepreneurship Club

The eClub (Entrepreneurship Club) is an MBA student organization at the USF School of Business. It coordinates all the student groups and activities that serve the entrepreneurial interests of USF MBA's. The eClub focuses venture capital, business plan competitions, small business ventures, technology and innovation, and of course, Entrepreneurship. From competitions, company visits, pitch nights, and guest speakers, the eClub is an active and fun MBA club at USF.

 

Mission:
The Entrepreneurship Club at the University of San Francisco seeks to bring together students who are interested in starting new businesses. We seek to sponsor programs that cultivate the creation of new businesses, create a safe environment for students to exchange ideas, and gather support from one another, and be a representative voice for entrepreneurial MBAs at USF.

 

Financing & Investing Club

The F&I Club's mission is to expose its members to various career opportunities in the finance industry, to promote career development, and to promote the USF program to both the business and academic community.
 
 
Please explore the club by attending meetings, joining the USF Connect Special Interest Group, or participating in activities. The F&I Club also gives MBA candidates the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the multi-trillion dollar investment industry. Club members actively manage a $100,000 portfolio of equity securities endowed by the University. The Investment Club enhances the education experience by allowing students to apply financial theories and concepts to the real world of investments. During meetings, club members analyze and discuss investment opportunities in the stock market and the economic and business factors that affect the market and portfolio.
 

Marketing Club

The American Marketing Association is one of the largest professional associations for marketers in the world, with over 38,000 members in every area of marketing. For sixty years the AMA has been the leading source for information, knowledge sharing, and development in the marketing profession.
 
 
The USF MBA Chapter of the American Marketing Association is dedicated to helping our members determine their career path, and then build the network of connections necessary to meet their career goals. To that end, our chapter works very closely with the SFAMA, the AMA chapter for marketing professionals in the bay area.
 

Technology Club

The Tech Club is open to anyone interested in keeping pace with tech related events at USF and around the Bay Area. We seek to extend our knowledge by organizing field trips to the numerous Bay Area tech related companies, inviting guest speakers to visit, and attending conferences and trade shows. The club exists to strengthen ties between students interested in technology industries and professionals. It accomplishes this by relying on motivated volunteers to build a community of people willing to go the extra step necessary to learn and share the latest developments.
 
 
The Tech Club is a student-run organization seeking to extend the classroom learning experience and provide networking opportunities amongst those interested in the industry.
